MasterPro Guitar Setup™ Certification for Professional Guitar Techs
You Already Do Great Work.
Now You Can Prove It.
Most shops just return a guitar.
MasterPro techs deliver documented, verifiable results that customers can see, keep, and trust.
This builds confidence in your work and sets you apart from your competitors.
- Issue professional setup certificates
- Keep a permanent electronic record of every job
- Show customers exactly what was done
- Stand out from every other shop
THE REAL PROBLEM
Great Work… Isn’t Always Visible
The customer pays and takes the guitar home. But other than a guitar that “plays better”, what does he have to show for his money?
He’ll never know about all the work you did. He’ll never see what makes your setup different from the shop down the street.
A MasterPro Guitar Setup™ Certification changes that.
Give Your Customer Something They Can See
Every MasterPro Guitar Setup™ comes with a professional certificate documenting the work performed on the instrument.
It identifies the guitar, the technician, the shop, and the completed services, with a unique verification ID, online verification link and QR code that lets customers verify that you’re a certified MasterPro Guitar Setup™ technician.
Your customer doesn’t just leave with a guitar that plays better. They leave with documented proof of the professional work performed on their instrument by a certified MasterPro Guitar Setup™ technician.
Permanent Record of Every Setup
The certificate isn’t just for your customer. Every MasterPro Guitar Setup™ also creates a permanent electronic record for your shop.
When that guitar comes back months or years later, you can quickly see what work was performed and the final setup specifications when it left your bench.
No searching through old paperwork. No relying on memory.
Every MasterPro setup becomes part of your professional service history.
- Customer history
- Previous work performed
- Final setup specifications
- Reference point for future service
- Record of the technician who performed the work
Professionalism Your Customers Can See
Customers can’t watch everything that happens at your repair bench. They judge your business by what they can see.
A documented setup, professional certificate and independently verifiable certification tell the customer that your work follows an established professional standard.
That helps turn something largely invisible — the skill and care that went into the setup — into something the customer can understand, keep and trust.
But a Certificate Has to Mean Something
A handsome certificate by itself doesn’t make a setup better.
The standards behind it do.
Every MasterPro Guitar Setup™ follows a defined procedure designed to make sure the entire instrument is evaluated, adjusted and checked — not just the problem the customer happened to notice.

$99 Registration — MasterPro Tools Included
First month included • $29/month thereafter
For experienced and practicing guitar technicians.
AND WE GIVE YOU THE TOOLS TO DO IT
MasterPro Guitar Setup™ Certification includes specialized tools developed in a working guitar repair shop to make important parts of the setup process faster, easier and more consistent.
They’re included with your $99 registration.
Fret Renewal Tool
Minor fret wear doesn’t always justify a complete level and crown.
The Fret Renewal Tool (FRT) gives you a fast, controlled way to remove light fret wear, restore the fret surface and polish the frets as part of a professional setup.
And when a full level and crown is necessary, the FRT dramatically speeds up the work between crowning and final polishing — turning what can be an hour of progressive fret finishing into just a few minutes.
Less bench time. Excellent results.
Buzz-Finder Probe
Finding exactly where a string is contacting a fret can sometimes take longer than fixing the problem.
The Buzz-Finder Probe (BFP) turns the string and frets into a simple electronic circuit. When the string contacts the fret being tested, the probe gives you an immediate indication.
It can also be used to quickly and accurately evaluate nut-slot clearance.
No tapping. No guessing. Find it, diagnose it, fix it.
MasterPro Setup Gauges
Accurate measurements shouldn’t slow down a setup.
The MasterPro Setup Gauges provide fast, repeatable reference measurements for two of the most important setup specifications: neck relief and string height.
Their purpose-designed shape makes it easy to check these measurements quickly and consistently as part of every setup.
Built for the Bench — Not the Toolbox Drawer
These aren’t promotional trinkets added to make the certification package look bigger.
We developed them because we use them.
Each tool solves a real problem encountered during professional guitar setups and is designed to make the job faster, easier or more repeatable.
And all three are included with your $99 MasterPro Guitar Setup™ registration.
GETTING CERTIFIED IS STRAIGHTFORWARD
MasterPro Guitar Setup™ Certification is designed for working guitar technicians. We’re not going to teach you how to set up a guitar — we’re going to certify that you understand and follow the MasterPro standards.
1. Read the MasterPro Standards
Before you register, read the MasterPro Guitar Setup Standards & Procedures Manual.
See exactly what MasterPro requires, compare it with the way you already work, and decide for yourself whether MasterPro is right for your shop.
(No registration required to download manual)
2. Register and Get Your MasterPro Tools
When you’re ready, register for $99.
Your registration includes the complete three-tool package — Fret Renewal Tool, Buzz Finder Probe and MasterPro Setup Gauges — plus your first month in the MasterPro program.
There is no additional charge for the tools.
3. Pass the Certification Quiz
Complete the online certification quiz to demonstrate that you understand the MasterPro standards and procedures.
4. Become MasterPro Certified
Once you’ve met the certification requirements, you can identify yourself as a MasterPro Guitar Setup™ Certified Technician, perform certified MasterPro setups and issue MasterPro certificates to your customers.
